Congratulations to the EFC 2024 Scholarship Winners
Surrey, BC - We are pleased to award the E.B. Horsman & Son EFC scholarships, through the Electro-Federation Canada Scholarship Program to Kimberly Wypych, Jasmine Belisle, and Areef Patel.
Kimberly Wypych is pursuing her Electrical Apprentice diploma at Coast Mountain College while working full-time. She aims to become a dual-ticketed journeyman, inspired by her father's career. Her long-term goal is to transition into quality control and inspection roles. In addition to her professional ambitions, Kimberly creates metal art installations with LED reactions or fire effects and volunteers actively in her community.
Jasmine Belisle is studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Alberta. A passionate problem solver with a focus on innovation, Jasmine has volunteered as a Junior Coach for the local Speed Skating Association. She is drawn to electronics for its constant evolution and creative potential. Jasmine adds, "I am incredibly grateful to receive this scholarship and would like to extend my thanks to E.B. Horsman & Son for this recognition. This scholarship enables me to continue pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and serves as a testament to my hard work and dedication to my studies. I look forward to applying the knowledge learned throughout my degree in the industry."
Areef Patel pursuing his Electrical Engineering degree at the University of British Columbia, currently works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Areef thrives in hands-on experimentation with electrical circuitry and Arduino boards. He is also part of UBC’s Aerodynamics Club, designing hovercrafts and drones through 3D prototyping. “I am thrilled to learn of my selection for this honour," Areef says. "Your support not only eases financial pressures but inspires me to work harder. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and giving back to the community, just as you have generously done for me."
This marks the 10th year for E.B. Horsman & Son’s EFC scholastic program that will be offered annually to Western Canadian students to cultivate, encourage, and support their studies while exposing them to the electrical industry.
