CleanBC Public Charger Program is Back

If you've been considering adding public EV charging to your property, community, or business, now may be the perfect time to act.

The CleanBC Go Electric Public Charger Program has officially reopened, bringing significant funding opportunities for organizations looking to install public EV charging infrastructure across British Columbia. The program is designed to help expand the province's charging network and support the growing number of electric vehicles on B.C. roads.

With EV adoption continuing to accelerate, access to reliable charging infrastructure has become more important than ever. To help meet this demand, the program aims to support the installation of 780 DC fast charging ports and 200 Level 2 charging ports throughout the province.

Applications are currently open until September 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PDT, or until available funding has been fully committed. Early applications are encouraged.

Funding Available for Public Charging Projects

Eligible applicants can receive:

  • Up to $80,000 per DC Fast Charging port (100 kW+)
  • Up to $5,000 per Level 2 charging port
  • Up to 75% of eligible project costs covered through program funding

Fast charger incentives are based on charger output:

  • Up to $20,000 for chargers between 20 kW and 49 kW
  • Up to $50,000 for chargers between 50 kW and 99 kW
  • Up to $80,000 for chargers 100 kW and above

Incentives for Indigenous Communities

Eligible Indigenous applicants may qualify for:

  • Up to $130,000 per DC Fast Charging port
  • Up to $7,500 per Level 2 charging port
  • Funding covering up to 90% of eligible project costs

Whether you're planning a public charging hub, destination charging site, or expanding charging infrastructure at an existing facility, these rebates can help reduce upfront project costs and help accelerate your return on investment.

Who Can Apply?

The program is available to a wide range of organizations, including:

  • Businesses
  • Local governments
  • Utilities
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Eligible public sector organizations
