Celebrating Lunar New Year: The Year of the Horse
As communities across Canada and around the world prepare to welcome Lunar New Year, EB Horsman & Son is proud to recognize this meaningful season of renewal, reflection, and fresh beginnings. This year marks the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse, beginning on February 17, 2026 — a rare and powerful sign within the lunar zodiac.

The Spirit of the Horse

In Lunar New Year tradition, the Horse represents vitality, forward movement, confidence, and resilience. The fire element amplifies these qualities — symbolizing bold energy, passion, and a determined drive to pursue progress with intention.

The Fire Horse is known for:

  • Courage and forward momentum
  • Resilience in fast‑changing environments
  • Independence balanced with responsibility
  • Hard work that leads to long‑term success

These themes resonate deeply with the values that guide EB Horsman. Across every branch, department, and customer interaction, our work is built on the same principles: steady advancement, adaptability, and a commitment to showing up with purpose every day.

The Horsman Name: A Symbol of Strength and Reliability

Over the years, many have mixed up our name — assuming “Horsman” must surely be spelled “Horseman,” or joking that we might be a tack shop rather than an electrical distributor. (We promise: no saddle blankets in stock!)

While the confusion is understandable, we’ve come to embrace the connection. We’ve even incorporated a horse into our logo, and every year we celebrate National Horse Day as a nod to the horse as a symbol that aligns closely with our brand. Representing trustworthiness, strength, endurance, and reliability, the horse reflects the values that have guided our company for generations. Like the horse, we take pride in showing up consistently, doing the hard work, and supporting the customers and communities who rely on us.

In the Year of the Fire Horse, that symbolism feels especially meaningful. In the Chinese zodiac, the Horse represents energy, resilience, independence, and forward momentum, while the Fire element adds passion, confidence, and drive. Together, they reflect a year defined by action, progress, and bold movement forward — qualities that align naturally with how we approach our work, our partnerships, and the future we’re building.

Built on Progress and Community

Lunar New Year offers a moment to reflect on the relationships that move our industry and our communities forward. At EB Horsman, progress happens through:

  • Strong, long‑standing partnerships with customers and suppliers
  • Dedicated teams across Western Canada who bring expertise and consistency
  • A shared commitment to service, collaboration, and doing things the right way

In a year defined by the fire element’s bold energy, we are reminded that meaningful progress is built through both independence and teamwork, with individuals bringing their strengths together to create momentum that lasts.

Happy Lunar New Year

As the new lunar year begins, we are grateful for the communities and relationships that continue to shape our journey. To our customers, partners, and team members who observe the holiday, we extend our warmest wishes.

From all of us at EB Horsman, we wish you a bright, hopeful, and prosperous Lunar New Year.
