Meter Centres by Siemens: Made in Canada, For Canada

Siemens’ electrical products go beyond conventional standards, they exemplify our belief in the power of innovation to drive progress, shape industries, and elevate communities. Through the high standards of engineering and quality inherent in Meter Centres made in Canada, we embrace the urgency of today’s sophisticated challenges while laying the foundation for a brighter, more sustainable future.
Siemens multi-family metering includes an assortment of module types that can be configured to meet a wide range of residential, commercial or industrial group metering applications. With quality and service being the keystones of Siemens meter centres, the product line is designed and built with the contractor in mind.
240V Modular Meter Centres
- 120/240V 1PH 3W or 120/208V 3PH 4W
- Horizontal bus bar rated at 600A or 1200A
- Vertical bus rated at 800A per section
- Meter Stacks are offered along with many sub-service module options
- Standard and Feed-Through Tap Boxes available
- Suitable for left and right hand side entry
- Provisioned for 2 or 3 Pole Circuit Breakers
Direct Tap Feature
When using Siemens' direct tap Main Lug Feed Kit for services at 600A, no tap box is required. This allows for the connection of main incoming cables directly to the Meter Stack main bus and eliminates the need for a sub service tap box saving considerable installation room.
Flexibility
Siemens service entrance equipment can be top or bottom fed for single connection or feed through applications. A user-friendly combination of knockouts is factory installed at the top to minimize installation time.
Modular Design
Each individual slide-in module design allows for fast installation and provides flexibility for future needs. If the branch requirement changes, the module can be interchanged without changing the complete stack.

Build your Meter Centre
1. Meter Stacks
All meter stacks are designed for “cold metering” in which individual subservice breakers are connected on the line side of the meter sockets thereby protecting the meter and all electrical equipment installed subsequent to it. Main bus connector kits are available to allow the connection of two meter stacks.
- 240V Meter Stacks can be offered with or without meter sockets.
- 600V Meter Centers are offered with four 7-Jawed meter sockets rated at 200A each.
2. Meter Sockets
Meter socket jaws consist of tin plated copper with steel spring reinforced clips for reliable contact pressure. The positive alignment of jaws and stabs is assured by bus straps which are bolted in place for 240V meter centres and factory installed for 600V meter centres.
- 240V Meter Stacks can fit sockets with 4 to 7 Jaws and rated up to 200A each
- 600V Meter Stacks can fit up to four 7 Jawed Sockets rated at 200A each
3. Tap Boxes
A Tap Box mounts directly next to the Meter Stack and is required to accommodate the incoming main service cable, unless a Main Lug Feed Kit is used for a 240V Meter Centre at 600A.
Standard and Feed Through tap boxes are availble at 600A or 1200A with connecters included. They can be offered with punched or unpunched aluminum or fiber entry plates.
4. Circuit Breakers
Compact, high performance type plug-in or bolt-on circuit breakers can be selected to address site requirements. Interrupting ratings of up to 100kA combine thermal and magnetic trip elements that feature isolated pole construction with a common trip bar for multiple pole devices, silver alloy contacts, and high pressure straight-in load connectors.

FXD/HFXD6 Breakers
Each 600V meter stack has provision for four 3-pole 200A max bolt-on type FXD6/HFXD6 circuit breakers. Non-interchangeable trip unit breakers must be used for this application. Generous gutter space allows for wiring for the top or the bottom of the meter module.
- 3 Pole 70-200A

- Non-interchangeable trip only
- Mounting hardware provided with meter stack
5. Safety Switches
For our 240V meter centers, fusible switches can be placed directly next to a metering stack with a Standard Tap Box or a Main Lug Feed Kit. Easy to mount general and heavy duty safety switches are available for each application.
6. Accessories
Filler plates, lug kits, and mounting rails are available for our meter centers. We also offer a variety of replacement parts including jaw front cover plates and breaker mounting kits for our breakers.
