Powering Opportunity: Supporting the “Classics for Kids” Program at Queen Margaret’s School

Powering Opportunity: Supporting the “Classics for Kids” Program at Queen Margaret’s School

Community partnerships often start with a conversation — and sometimes, a bold vision.

Last year, Matt Sager, star of Lost Car Rescue on the History Channel, connected with our Duncan branch to share his idea for a new automotive and restoration shop at Queen Margaret’s School on Vancouver Island.

That idea became Classics for Kids — a hands-on trades program designed to give Grade 11 and 12 students real-world experience in automotive repair and classic car restoration.

Building Skills. Restoring Classics. Supporting Care.

The program provides students with practical skills, mentorship, and exposure to career pathways in the skilled trades — all within a purpose-built facility on campus.

The impact extends beyond the classroom.

The classic vehicles restored through the program will be auctioned across British Columbia, with proceeds supporting the Pediatric Department at the new Cowichan District Hospital, currently under construction and scheduled for completion in May 2027.

Supporting initiatives connected to local healthcare infrastructure makes this project especially meaningful for our team and the communities we serve.

Supporting the Vision

EB Horsman was proud to contribute materials to play a role in the new Classics for Kids facility at Queen Margaret’s School.

We were honoured to attend the donors’ reception, where Head of School Ander Munro spoke about the lasting impact this program will have on students and families in the region. Representatives connected to the pediatric care team also shared their appreciation for the collective effort behind the initiative.

As part of the recognition, EB Horsman received a commemorative tile installed at the building entrance — a lasting symbol of the partnership and community support behind the project.
