Supporting Canada’s Shipbuilding Future: Our Partnership with Seaspan

When a new Canadian vessel takes shape at Seaspan Shipyards, it represents the work of far more than one organization. Behind each vessel is a network of shipbuilders, engineers, skilled tradespeople, manufacturers, and Canadian suppliers working together toward a shared goal.

EB Horsman & Son is honoured to be part of that effort.

We were recently featured in Seaspan’s Supplier Spotlight series, recognizing our contribution to Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy. For our team, this recognition is something we are very proud of. It represents more than a supplier relationship. It reflects the opportunity to contribute to major projects that will serve Canada for decades.

Proud to Support Canadian Shipbuilding

EB Horsman & Son has been serving Canadian industry since 1900. Over those 125+ years, the industries we support have changed, and our capabilities have grown with them.

More than a decade ago, we began working with Seaspan as Canada renewed its domestic shipbuilding capacity through the National Shipbuilding Strategy.

Since then, our relationship has grown across several vessel programs, including the Offshore Fisheries Science Vessels, Offshore Oceanographic Science Vessel, Joint Support Ships, Multi-Purpose Vessels, and future Polar Icebreaker projects.

Being part of these programs carries a great deal of responsibility.

Modern shipbuilding requires strict technical and quality standards, careful procurement and documentation, and close coordination between shipbuilders, manufacturers, suppliers, and technical teams. Our role is to help Seaspan meet those requirements by providing electrical products, technical knowledge, project support, and access to our network of supplier partners.

As the programs have grown, we have also invested in dedicated personnel, technical resources, engineering support, and processes to better serve the marine sector.

Part of Something Bigger

Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy is about more than building ships.

It is strengthening Canada’s ability to design, build, maintain, and support vessels here at home. It is creating long-term opportunities for Canadian businesses, developing skilled jobs, strengthening domestic supply chains, and supporting the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.

EB Horsman & Son is proud to contribute to that work.

Every vessel represents years of planning and thousands of hours of work from people and businesses across Canada. Our contribution is one part of a much larger effort, and we are proud to work alongside Seaspan and the many Canadian organizations helping make these projects possible.

As a fifth-generation Canadian company, there is something especially meaningful about contributing to projects of this scale and national importance.

We are honoured to have our work recognized by Seaspan, proud of the EB Horsman employees and supplier partners who support these projects, and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Canada’s shipbuilding programs.

It is a partnership we are proud to be part of, and work we are proud to support.
