Founded in 1850 near Chemnitz, Germany, Weidmüller began in textile production before venturing into fasteners and eventually into the realm of electrical connection technology. This shift changed the course of the company’s history. From inventing the first plastic-insulated terminal block to integrating electronics into terminal blocks in the 1980s, Weidmüller has consistently led the way in modernizing cabinet building, automation, and industrial connectivity.
