Environmental impact

Mersen is committed to protecting biological biodiversity to ensure the protection and survival of animal and plant species, genetic diversity, and natural ecosystems. In 2021, the Mersen set up a biodiversity map of their sites. Three sites are located within one or more protected areas, and 14 are located within a kilometer of one. All sites have received detailed information on their positions and their responsibility with respect to biodiversity. No site reported biodiversity loss. Moreover, Mersen has prioritized increasing waste recycling as waste management has become a growing environmental concern. To control contamination, Mersen uses water primarily to cool equipment used in heating processes, ensuring water quality before disposal. Then, the discharges are subject to rigorous controls to avoid any risk of pollution.
