Better Together at E.B. Horsman & Son’s AGM & FMS 2023

AGM Kick Off

On March 6 – 9, 2023 E.B. Horsman & Son (EBH) hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Field Marketing Summit (FMS). We were pleased to have our E.B. Horsman staff and supplier partners together again to learn, grow, and exchange ideas because, after all, we are “Better Together”. The four-day “Better Together” themed event allowed us to discover and focus on new strategies to serve our customers better, faster, and more efficiently in 2023.

We learned about different areas of the business such as eCommerce, Finance, Sales, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Marketing. It was a great opportunity to connect and reconnect with our teams across Western Canada; we share best practices and lessons learned over the past year. This year the EBH team has increased, and we are excited about the future as we continue to grow and develop.

We celebrated and recognized team members and branches for their exceptional work, effort, and commitment.

We celebrated International Women’s Day as we had the most women present at our AGM & FMS 2023 than ever before.

Field Marketing Summit

During the field marketing summit (FMS), the EBH staff had the opportunity to visit and meet over 50 supplier partners at their designated booth. The teams learned about features, benefits, and trends of 100s of supplier products and new products coming in 2023. We integrated a new feature for our FMS, allowing our staff and suppliers to engage and communicate through our event app! On the evening of the FMS, we had our Supplier Appreciation Dinner, where we announced the E.B. Horsman & Son Supplier of the Year 2022 – Southwire!

Affiliated Distributors (AD) attended our Divisional Rotations and FMS. AD awarded curated gift packages to Nancy Rose and Val Tolea for correctly answering AD trivia questions.

AD Canada was created to bring together four distinct Canadian AD divisions under one umbrella, with the goal of maximizing the growth and success of each division’s member and supplier partners. AD is uniquely positioned to help independents and suppliers across Canada grow and prosper in an age of increasing consolidation, globalization, and channel convergence.

Last but not least, we had a lot of fun activities with all the different board games, supplier lounges with skee ball, car racing, and Wii; there were many options to play and connect. Staff were able to answer polls, complete puzzles, participate in photo contests, and even do a scavenger hunt through our app to win prizes. Additionally, we raised over $4000 for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation!

We want to give a big shout-out to all our dedicated, committed, and hard-working supplier partners and E.B. Horsman staff. We are grateful to have the best people to provide the best products and services to meet and exceed the needs of our valuable customers; we are “Better Together”.
