The Tour de Cure rolled through the Fraser Valley this past weekend (Aug 24-25), with 16 riders from E.B. Horsman & Son raising money for the BC Cancer Foundation. Cancer has touched so many lives, including those of people we hold dear. Every pedal push will be a testament to the strength and courage for those fighting cancer and together we can raise awareness, spread hope and contribute to the vital research and support services.
This year’s Tour de Cure Ride was nothing short of remarkable, even with the pouring rain on Saturday. Our team of 16 riders showed incredible perseverance and dedication. Roy Bragg, our team captain, expressed the true spirit of the event:
“This is a cause that hits home for many of us. The support from the EBH staff, our riders’ families, and friends has been invaluable. A big thank you to everyone who volunteers, participates, mentors, and helps with fundraising. We couldn’t do it without you!
This year, our team has grown to 16 riders, with some new faces joining us. Our seasoned riders have done a fantastic job of guiding and encouraging the newcomers. Seeing the pride on their faces as they cross the finish line is something special. It’s all about teamwork, unity, and honouring those we’ve lost. The friendships we’ve built through this ride are strong and lasting, making this event truly meaningful,” said, Roy Bragg.
Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible including Jennifer Cargo our co-captain this year, Thank you.
A tributing year to remember! This year we had a milestone year of 16 riders riding for EBH. I’m incredibly honoured to be riding amongst a community of riders who creates an safe space to ride. The amount support, care and perseverance to ride during unfavourable riding conditions this year. I was able to witness many beautiful moments but the best one was seeing our team riding to the finish line together lead by Roy Bragg who passed his torch to Jennifer Cargo to continue his tradition for this amazing cause. Happy Retirement Roy, your legacy that you’ve left us will never be forgotten. “It takes an endless amount of history to make tradition” – Henry James. Till next year.. Said Tammy Luu, Sr. Human Resources Advisor, CPHR.
Participating in the Ride to Cure is more than just joining an event—it’s a testament to E.B. Horsman’s dedication to making a difference. As we cycle through challenging routes, we’re not only testing our endurance but also raising crucial funds and awareness for a cause that deeply resonates with us.
With every pedal stroke, we strengthen connections and create lasting memories that go beyond the race. We embody the teamwork and camaraderie that are core to our company culture, all while contributing to a cause that supports those affected by cancer. Each kilometer we cover and every dollar we raise brings us closer to advancing research, providing patient support, and driving advocacy efforts.
Our involvement in the Ride to Cure isn’t just about physical fitness; it’s a reflection of our commitment to social responsibility. We’re showing that our company is about more than just business—it’s about making a positive impact in the world. This event gives us the opportunity to amplify our efforts and be part of a cause that truly matters.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s riding with purpose and to those who support our mission. Together, we’re making strides in the fight against cancer, turning every pedal into progress. Let’s continue riding with determination, purpose, and the shared vision of a healthier future.
