EB Horsman’s 125-Year Legacy: 10 Years of Service at Our Edmonton Branch

As EB Horsman & Son celebrates 125 years in business across Western Canada, we are proud to recognize the branches that make it all possible. This month, we are highlighting our Edmonton branch, which is also celebrating a big milestone of its own. Today, May 4th marks 10 years of service at the Edmonton branch!

The Edmonton branch opened in May 2015. It was the first location outside of British Columbia since EB Horsman moved from Saskatchewan many years ago. This move helped the company grow into new areas, leading to the opening of our Calgary branch and our second distribution centre, DC2. The branch is led by Branch Manager, Travis Cook and has a team of 22 employees. The Edmonton team focuses on PAC products, commercial and industrial projects, and support for panel shops and OEM customers. The branch is known for its strong technical support and quick customer service.

Giving back to the community is important to the Edmonton team. Kyle Gilmour, one of our team members, regularly participates in the Ride to Conquer Cancer near Calgary. In April 2025, the team prepared brunch for families staying at Ronald McDonald House in Edmonton and hopes to continue this as an annual tradition.

The branch also supports local sports teams and charities through fundraising and sponsorships. Some examples include a curling event with LSW Lighting that raises money for Little Warriors, a beverage tasting event in support of the same cause, and participation in the Prolux Golf Fundraiser. The team also hosts counter mornings to connect with customers and showcase supplier products.

There are several standout qualities that make our Edmonton branch unique. Kyle Gilmour brings a special energy to the workplace. As a former Rugby Canada player, he carries the same team spirit and dedication into his role at EB Horsman. That strong sense of collaboration is reflected across the branch and has helped drive its continued success. In 2024, Edmonton ranked third in business growth across the company, a clear result of the team’s hard work and focus since opening.

In addition to EB Horsman’s 125th anniversary, the Edmonton branch is excited to celebrate 10 years in the local market. To mark these milestones, the team is planning a trade show with supplier representatives and food trucks. This event is expected to take place in early September and will be a great opportunity to thank customers and partners for their ongoing support.
